custom framing a needle art of a Pileated Woodpecker

Here’s another Christmas gift!

The needle art was stitched by our clients father-in-law, and the husband is framing it for his wife for Christmas.

Nice use of the “real” Pileated Woodpecker with the Native American symbol for the woodpecker, don’t you think?

We picked a neutral mat of beige and grey, with a reddish toned frame that had knotholes in it to pick up the red on the woodpecker, and the feel of the knotholes in the birch bark. The needle art is preservation mounted so it could easily be removed in the future, and the needle art is glazed with conservation glazing.

We are hoping the wife was thrilled when she unwrapped this special Christmas gift from her father and her husband!
